A Look At the 90 Packer Players For 2017

The Packer Roster, May 24, 2017:

What do we expect from the 90 players?

Roster by the numbers?

You are the coach, you are the general manager, and you must go from 90 to 53?  What do you do?

First, getting down to 53 IS NOT EASY!  Here is what you need!

1 - Quarterback

1 - Running Back

1 - Fullback (not all teams do this)

3 - Wide Receivers

2 - Tight Ends

2 - Tackles

2 - Guards

1 - Center

2 - Safeties

2 - Cornerbacks

2 - Inside Linebackers

2 - Outside Linebackers

2 - Defensive Ends (whether 3-4 or 4-3 defense)

2 - Defensive Tackles

1 - Punter

1 - Kicker

1 - Long Snapper

This list, will change according to the offensive & defensive schemes of coaches, BUT it is

a general NEED to have list!  28 players.

That is 28-30 players a team MUST have!

28-30 players!

So, can you go through the 90 players above and pick 28-30 players for the Packers now?

Here is my guess!

2 - Quarterback (Aaron Rodgers & Brett Hundley)

1 - Running Back (Ty Montgomery)

1 - Fullback (not all teams do this) (Aaron Ripkowski)

3 - Wide Receivers (Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, & Davonte Adams)

2 - Tight Ends (Marcellus Bennett  & Lance Kendricks)

2 - Tackles (David Bahktiari & Brian Bulaga)

2 - Guards (Lane Taylor & Jahri Evans)

1 - Center (Corey Lindsley)

3 - Safeties (Morgan Burnett, Ha Ha Clinton-Dixx & Josh Jones)

2 - Cornerbacks (Davon House & Kevin King)

2 - Inside Linebackers (Jake Ryan & Blake Martinez)

2 - Outside Linebackers (Clay Matthews & Nick Perry)

2 - Defensive Ends (whether 3-4 or 4-3 defense)

2 - Defensive Tackles (Mike Daniels & Kenny Clark)

1 - Punter (Jacob Schum)

1 - Kicker (Mason Crosby)

1 - Long Snapper (Derek Hart? or Brett Goode)

So, my list has 30 names. Agree?  For me, these players MUST make the team?

Next, we will look closely at the next 23!  

So, let the battle begin - 23 players out of 60!  What will the next 3 months bring?
