We Have All The Time To Ask Why, My First Look

 If you follow my blog, you know one of the first thing I look at is the Packer Drives during the game, there were 11, but only 10 count - the 5th drive was a 1 second drive before half time.  So.........

1 - Punt

2 - TD

3 - FG

4 - Interception

5 - End of Half, Packers had 1 second on clock after giving up a TD!

Half

6 - Fumble, a KILLER turnover!!

7 - TD

8 - TD

9 - Punt

10 - Punt

11 - FG, this is the final nail in the coffin, 4th & goal on the 8, take the FG, NEVR get ball back!

So, the simple analysis, with going into detail, Drive 4 - Interception, Drive 6 to open the second half, a fumble, & Drive 11, going for a field goal, and NOT the touchdown & giving the ball back to Tom Brady, Coach LaFleur, that is TOM BRADY, you know the guy with all those rings!  And, relying on the Packer Defense to get the ball back????  Young Coach, and you see the results..

 It has been a week.  My "Packer" Heart is recovering sllllllllllowly! My, analysis will come, but I am having trouble watching the game for the second time!  Until then, one week and.......

OK, Time to Bring Up the Rodgers vs Brady Thing!

 The "Elephant in the Room"!  Rodgers vs Brady

First, forget the Super Bowls(Brady), the TD passes, yards, game winning touchdowns, etc.  Just, think of TWO great quarterbacks, doing their VERY best to win a football game!  They are going to battle & battle & battle!  Forget the stats, enjoy the battle!

Second, two very different styles of quarterbacks!  Brady, is old school.  The mold of Unitas, Namath, Starr, Aikman - Drop Back and chuck it.  Hit the short passes, throw a long one once and awhile and control the game!  Rodgers, more the creative, nerdy, mad scientist.  Artistic & analyzing.  And, making throws that Brady could not make!

But, Brady has a "Will to Win".  A story from this Packer fan:

The Packer Buddies had their normal end zone seats.  The opposing team was slowly entering the field to warm up before the game.  At the far end of the stadium, Brady enters, sprints down to our end zone - stairs at the Packer Fans, raises his hands, and in his eyes says, "I am going to BEAT you!"  Whoa!

By the way, Rogers & the Packers won that day!  A brief report on the game:

Nov. 30, 2014: Green Bay Packers def. New England Patriots, 26-21

The first-ever Brady vs. Rodgers matchup took place at Lambeau Field in 2014. Both teams had Super Bowl aspirations with the Patriots entering the week at 9-2 and the Packers at 8-3.

Rodgers outdueled Brady in this one, completing 24 of 38 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns. His go-to target Davante Adams finished with six catches for 121 receiving yards, and both Jordy Nelson and Richard Rodgers contributed TDs in Green Bay's victory.

Brady completed 22 of 35 pass attempts for 245 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were caught by wideout Brandon LaFell. Running back Brandon Bolden also scored.

So, Brady is 2 wins and 1 loss versus Rodgers.  Of course, earlier this year:

Oct. 18, 2020: Tampa Bay Buccaneers def. Green Bay Packers, 38-10

and, 

Nov. 4, 2018: New England Patriots def. Green Bay Packers, 31-17

Now, what will happen this Sunday?  WOW!  This is fun!

So, the Bucs can lose!  And, the Packers can win!

A game to forget, but analyzed!

Packers Over Rams, Next Up Bucs!

 NFL Playoffs are always filled with stories, and a mixture of past and future dreams!  Here are just a few to thinks about this week , before the "Final Four" take the field.

1 - Aaron Rodgers - his first NFC Championship Game at HOME on Lambeau Field!  On the path tis a second Super Bowl Ring - like Bart Starr & one more Than Brett Favre!  On the way to another MVP?

2 - Tom Brady - here we go, Patriots without Brady, Brady on Bucs, will he win ANOTHER Super Bowl?

3 - Patrick Mahomes - first, will he play after a concussion?  Will he win back to back Super Bowls?  With this be the "State Farm" Super Bowl?  Rodgers vs Mahomes?

4 - Josh Allen - "Buffalo Mafia"!  A fan base starving for a Super Bowl.  A team with 4 Super Bowl appearance & 4 loses!

5 - Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Bucs, Kansas City Chiefs, & Buffalo Bills?  All franchises with NFL stories, which team will end the year with a win?

For now, enjoy the win!!  The Packers win another playoff victory & MORE to come!

What Do YOU Think About the Packer & Rams Playoff Game?

 OK, all numbers aside, all match ups asides, all experts aside, what does your GUT tell you!

1 - Overall, GOOD!  Why?  Aaron Rodgers has been in a HAPPY place all year.  Davante Adams is having a fantastic season, and looks super confident!  Aaron Jones, Jamal Williams, & AJ Dillion, are MORE than adequate to have a big game!  Tonyan, has become a top NFL tight end!  And, the offensive line has been GOOD & Versatile!  

2 - The Defense is beginning to develop to players!  All Pro type players - Alexander, Z Smith, Clark & Savage.  They need to keep improving, and a playoff game is JUST what they need!

3 - Packers are DUE - it has been 10 years!  And, a fifth Super Bowl is what Aaron Rodgers needs to guarantee his legacy, a fifth Super Bowl would be a great gift in this CRAZY year for Packer fans & football, and, MY PACKERS BUDDIES WOULD LOVE IT!!!!!

AND, Vince would LOVE 

another Super Bowl!!!!

Packers Defense - Are They a Super Bowl Defense?

This was not a game changing, NFL elite defense!  Clay Matthews was a player.  Charles Woodson was in his prime and a future Hall of Fame player.  BJ Raji was a very good run stopper.  AJ Hawk was a scrappy inside linebacker.  Nick Collins was a better than average NFL safety.  The other players, good roll players, but not All Pros!  So, looking back, a GOOD defense, but not GREAT!

OLB - Preston Smith

OLB - Za'Darius Smith

ILB - Christian Kirksey

First look, not a scary defense!  Some 2020 All Pros - Jaire Alexander at CB & Za'Darius Smith at OLB.  My gut says Alexander may be a future great one.  Z Smith, is very good, but not scary good.  Kenny Clark is a very good DT, but needs help, Lowry, injured Keke, and sub Lancaster, are not dangerous.  Inside linebacker average at best, the young Barnes could be a diamond in the rough, but a rookie!  Amos & Savage are better than average & Savage could be a VERY good one, but young.  Savage has been making big plays.  

As I see it, a good defense, but must be working at their VERY BEST to get us to the promise land!

A Look at the All the Rams Loses

 Who beat the Rams in 2020?

The Bills, the Dolphins, the Seahawks, twice by the 49ers, and yes, the Jets!!!!!

September 27, the Bills 35 and the Rams 32

October 18, the 49ers 24 and the Rams 16

November 1, the Dolphins 28 & the Rams 17

November 29, the 49ers 23 & the Rams 20

December 20, the Jets 23 & the Rams 20!!!!!!!!!!

December 27, the Seahawks 20 & the Rams 9

There you have it!  The one of course that stands out, the Jets game and the 49ers beat the Rams twice.  So, as a defensive coordinator, I would look at those three games first!

The Jets game - Goff had 209 yards - 2 TD passes & 1 interception.  Top running back, Akers, 15 rushes for 63 yards.  Top receivers Woods 6 receptions for 56 yards & Kupp 5 receptions for 39 yards.  Donald had 0 sacks.  Again, LOST to the JETS!!!

Wild Card Weekend, Packers Will Play Rams!

 First, my predictions, was 4 of 6!

Loss - Browns over Steelers. Did you see the first quarter?  It was meant to be - first play snap over QB head, for a TD!  Then Steeler fumbles & interceptions! Browns were given a win & Chiefs will send them home next week! As for the Steelers, start 11-0, and a total collapse?  That was weird! 

Loss - Rams over Seahawks.  Seahawks, like the Steelers, did not look like the same team as they did early in the year?  Wilson, Seahawks QB, limped home!  Now the Rams do have a great D & will give the Packers ALL the can handle!!!

The obvious match up Packer WR, Adams against the Rams CB, Ramsey!!!!  OH, BABY!  My, first look!

First, Adams vs Ramsey - watch close!  First, can Adams get separation?  Second, can LaFleur & Hackett scheme plays to get Adams o

pen!  Watch closely!

Second, the Packer receivers must earn their pay!!!  Tonyan, Lazard, Valdes-Scantling!!!  We need a TD from each of you!!!!

Third, how does Rodgers handle the matchup?  Force the ball, or take what the defense gives him? So, for this Packer fan, the #1 Key is Adams vs Ramsey, Next up, Packers O-line vs Rams, DT, Donald?

Second choice, Redskins (yep, still call them the Redskins).  Come on, they were 7 wins & 9 loses!  Really!  This is ONE (among other issues)  the NFL has screwed up!  You play, 16 hard fought games & a 7 & 9 team is in the playoffs! (Dolphin fans, you were 10 wins & 6 losses!  NOT GOOD!  NOT FAIR!

Third choice?  Seahawks - I DO NOT LOKE PETE CARROLL!  

So, no matter what happens, the Super Bowl path goes through Lambeau Field!  YES!!!
