Packer Roster Constantly Changing

Here is the 53 players as of September 30, 2015:

OK, let's start on offense - QB - Rodgers, Tolzien & Hundley.  Same as we started the year, and still looking awesome!!!

RB - Lacy, Starks, & Harris.  Overall, a good start, but not great.  Hovering around 100 yards combined for the 3 games.  Lacy, a bad ankle hanging tough, but not 100%.  Starks has been a great back up as usual!  And Harris, had one great run on one carry against the Chiefs!

FB - Kuhn & Ripkowski.  Looks like we have a keeper in Ripkowski.  His special teams play has been very good & Kuhn is still Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhn!

WR - Did you know we are missing Jordy?  We kept 5 - Cobb, Adams, James, Montgomery & Janis.
Wow!  Again, awesome pick up with James Jones, at least on TD in every game so far!  Cobb is playing great.  Adams started OK, but another ankle sprain!  Good news, Montgomery is looking good!  Even Janis is getting time & looking great on special teams!

Offensive Line - we kept 9, and that was good.  Barclay is filling in at right tackle for injured Bulaga, who will be back.  The rest of the line, Bakhtiari, Lang, Sitton, Lindsley & Barclay are playing well.  QB-Rodgers is able to do his thing!  Backups Walker, Tretter, & Taylor are ready to go!

So, offense is looking good!

We are 6 deep at safety - Burnett, Clinton-Dixx, Hyde, Banjo, Richardson,  and Gunter.  Burnett has missed 2 of 3 games and is the leader of our D!  I think, with Morgan playing every game, our D would have beed even better & finished better!  Clinton-Dixx continues to improve!(How about that hit in the Chiefs game! I'm still made he was penalized!  Hyde is playing all over the place & Richardson is looking good!

Cornerbacks - Shields, Hayward, Goodson, Randall & Rollins.  Again, play has been good & many different crazy Capers defenses, using a lot of people! Starters Shields & Hayward are playing well.  Number one draft pick, Randall playing a lot & looking good!

Inside Linebackers - Matthews (looks like he will be there for a long time) Palmer, Ryan, & Thomas are getting playing time with the loss of Barrington!  Palmer is now beside Matthews.  Love watching Matthews fly side line to side line!  Palmer seems quicker than Barrington. And rookie Ryan is playing great on special teams!  The new pick up, Joe Thomas, played game 3 against the Chiefs and looked very quick & athletic!

Outside Linebackers - Peppers, Neal, Perry, Elliot, & Mulumba.  With Matthews playing more inside, this position is critical!!!!  Peppers still has a lot of gas in the tank!  Neal & Perry are playing well - they NEED to!!!!  Elliot, is gaining time and producing!  HE may be the missing link!

Defensive Line - Guion is back!  D. Jones, Raji, Daniels, Pennel, & Gaston.  Boyd is done for the year.  Raji is playing like the young Raji!  Daniels is playing AWESOME!  And Jones, Pennel, & Gaston provide the depth!  Will Guion help change this to a VERY good front? Time will tell!

MY GUT SAYS,  if they stay healthy, this D may be special by December!

Packers Get A Fast Start and Coast To A Win Over Chiefs 38-28

Score 38-28, Packer 10 point win!  I predicted Packer 27-20 win, 7 points.

I thought stopping Charles at running back was a key - Charles 11 attempts 49 yards - CHECK!

I wanted 3 TD passes to Cobb, Jones, & Montgomery - we got 5 TD passes to Montgomery, Jones,
and Cobb (Cobb was greedy with 3!)

I was concerned with injuries - Lacy played some, and Starks again filled in well & 3rd stringer Harris even had a nice run!
Lacy - 46 yds, Starks - 32 yds, Harris -17 yds, Rodgers - 16 yds and Cobb 12 yds = 123 yards!

Overall, it was a scrappy defense, with new faces flying around!  Daniels was his aggressive self.  Matthews was flying around(and 2 sacks), young D-backs getting action, #1 pick Randall, 2nd year many Clinton-Dixx(with a BIG hit & a STUPID referee call!!!), Hayward solidifying his starting roll, Hyde playing anywhere, etc!

And on offense, Aaron Rodgers!  Wow!  Special!  Slick!  Accurate!  Cool! AND, R-E-L-A-X-E-D!
Montgomery filling in for injured Adams, Jones(I'll say it again-great pick up Ted!), and Cobb always there for Aaron!

Special teams - giving up one big return, but overall not bad!

And after 3 games, 3 wins and 0 losses!  7 teams left out of 32 undefeated - Bengals-Patriots-Broncos-Panthers-Falcons-Cardinals and PACKERS!

Next up, San Fransisco 49ers away game!  Need to settle a score with Colin Kaepernick!

Monday Night Football - Green Bay Packers

Here we go - some thoughts as I watch the game tonight!

*  Monday Night - whatever team you cheer for - YOUR team will be TALKED about, and TALKED about, and TALKED about.................

*  EVERY game is the NFL is fun!

*  At times I will hit the MUTE button, and just watch the game!

* The Picks of ESPN staff all go with Packers EXCEPT Berman!  Aaron Says: C'mon Man!!!

Ready for Kickoff!

First Quarter Analysis

One word for quarter #1 - AGRESSIVE!  Offense - aggressive!  Defense - aggressive!!!  The tempo was great all around!!!  Offense let Aaron do his thing!!!  Lot of people playing!
Defense, same thing!  Attacking line of scrimmage!  Playing a lot of people!

14-0 Packers!

Second Quarter Analysis

In the second quarter, some sloppy defense.  Few penalties & a KC TD!  Must stay focused ALL the time! But, the Pack finished the quarter!  Just like the game of golf, you MUST stay focused on every shot!  In football, every play could be the play!  Also in quarter two, Aaron played head games with the Chiefs, getting the D to jump, changing snap counts, .....  He is a chess player in a football uniform! (AND JEOPARDY!)

24-7 Packers at Half!

Third Quarter Analysis

To begin the second half.  First, see Elliot in game on defense!  Turnovers!  Field position & changing field position.  Playing in the rain.  Chiefs put a nice drive together AND throw a TD pass to a wide receiver!  THAT IS NEWS!

31-14 Packers.

Fourth Quarter Analysis

Who finished strong?  MUST play entire game!  OK, score got to 38-14, about 12 minutes left,
I would take out Rodgers!  Two things, one of course, PROTECT AARON & two, Tolzien some
offensive snaps!  All I have to say about the 4th QUARTER!

Terrible referees!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game Analysis

Every time I watch a game like this I scratch my head!  But, it is a win!  3-0!

Wow!

Packers & Chiefs 50 Years Later!

Super Bowl 1 - Kansas City Chiefs versus Green Bay Packers!

After the AFL & NFL merger!  The VERY first Super Bowl! But, it wasn't called the Super Bowl - it was the AFL-NFL World Championship!  Packer won!!!

Winners Super Bowl 1 - Winner get $15,000 & $7,500, losers last year - Winner $92,000
& Losers $46,000

Now at Lambeau Field Monday Night Football!  45 years of Monday Night Football!!!!  First
game September 21, 1970 - Cleveland 31 - New York Jets 21! Now, September 28, 2015, my prediction?

Packers 27 and Chiefs 20

How will it happen?

Aaron Rogers - 3 TD passes - Cobb, Jones, & rookie Montgomery!  And, would be nice
to see a 300 yard game!  Plus 2 Crosby FG's!

Jamaal Charles gets 100 yards, but Packers D gets more turnovers to help win game!

Injury concerns for Pack - Lacy - ankle, Burnett - calf, Adams - ankle, Neal - groin, & subs
Richardson - ankle & Ripkowski - shoulder.  All these players are questionable!  That means
a 50-50 chance of playing!

So, James Starks at running back needs to play big!  Montgomery at wide receiver, must play BIG!
And, Hyde & Clinton-Dixx MUST come up and tackle!

PackerBuddy Pics From The Seattle - Packers Game

Another AWESOME Packer Buddies weekend!

Arrived in Milwaukee on Saturday, but before we took off, we saw veterans(WW2, Korea, & Vietnam arrive in Baltimore to visit Washington DC!  The organization, "Honor Flight" (Click here to see website),  was flying veterans into Washington, DC from all around the country, to visit the military sites!  The crowd at the airport grew & grew, and cheered the veterans as they entered the airport!  IT WAS AWESOME!

Some veterans walking, some in wheel chairs, tears & smiles, families & friends, or people like
the Packer Buddies, cheering people we did not even know, people that kept our country safe!  Thank you Veterans!

Landing in Milwaukee, rent a car head to Green Bay, first stop, Packer Pro Shop & shopping!

Bring your money & cards!

We always find great places to eat!  In Mischicot, we ate breakfast on Sunday at one of our favorite places - The Cozy Corner.  We sat down and ate with Tom & Darlene, Tom was at the Ice Bowl Game in 1967!!!  DID YOU HEAR THAT!!!  At the ICE BOWL GAME!!!!

Eating with Tom and Darlene
Tom was at the Packer Game in 1967 - THE ICE BOWL!!!!

Before the Packer Game, many veteran Packer players were there to cheer on the present Packers!

This is a special organization!  And, it handles it's alumni VERY well!!  And, for the 60-70 year old age group, the memories come back to their younger days, Taylor & Horning, Starr & Kramer, and many more great players!!  WOW!

Lambeau is a special place & ALL football fans NEED to visit!!

FINAL SCORE

PACKERS 27

SEAHAWKS 17

Next Up For The Packers - Kansas City Chiefs

Two games down, fourteen to go!  The most important game, is the next game!

Coach Andy Reid

Coach Reid is a winner.  His teams have won at Philadelphia & now at Kansas City.  But, his teams can be beaten!  The team will be prepared.  The team will be play hard.  The team will be have players that will make plays.  Andy Reid is a GOOD football coach.

Players to watch:

Alex Smith QB - drafted before Aaron Rodgers(in fact he was #1 draft pick), Smith has a
lot to prove! (And passed by by 49ers).  A QB with something to prove is always dangerous!  Stats
from last year - 18th in TD's - 19 and 20th in Yards with 3265 yards, and 13th in QB Rating 93.4.

Travis Kelce TE - Kelce is THE receiver so far for the Chiefs.  First game, Kelce went crazy - 6 receptions - 106 yards - 2 TD's!  We did a number on Jimmy Graham, now Kelce!

Jamaal Charles RB - Charles, follows Forte & Lynch of the past 2 weeks.  Stopping the run has been
a Packer theme the past 2-3 years for our defense!  We need to stop the RUN!  Last week Charles went crazy with 125 yards & a TD!  Key on Charles!

Tamba Hali LB - Hali, PENN STATE GRAD, has dropped off with sacks, but is still a force.  At age 31, he is a lot like our Peppers, experienced and savvy!

Justin Houston LB - Last year Houston led the league in sacks, with 22!  Did you HEAR that
offensive line!  Watch out for Houston!

To some up our first look, the Chiefs will be ready.  The Pack must score around 27 points again, and hold KC to less than 20!  Watch Charles & Kelce!  Give Aaron time - KEY Houston!!!!!

This game is very similar to the Seattle game!

Packers 27 - Cheifs 20!

Packers Buddies Get Loud at Packer-Seattle Game!

Packers Win!     Packers Win!    Packer Win!

It is only game 2, but, The Packer Fans left Lambeau feeling VERY GOOD!  No matter what you say, a win over the Seahawks is something special!  Just like last year during the regular season, the Cowboys & Patriots win were SWEET!  But, in the NFL, you do not get extra points for these wins!  So, the Packers are 2-0 and we have a long way to go!

So, here is my breakdown of the Seattle - Packer game!

Take #1 - Adversity Test!  Packers passed!  First Packer drive, starting running back Eddie Lacy goes down.  Does not return.  Davante Adams goes down, but returns in the second half.  Second half, Josh Boyd goes down for the year!

Remember, before the game, Bulaga, starting right offensive tackle, out 6-8 weeks.  Barrington, starting inside linebacker, out for the year!  And, oh yeah, Jordy Nelson, you know............

So, Packers win over Seattle passes Adversity Test!

Take #2 - Finish Test!  Recently, the Packers have had issues finishing games against Seattle.  Remember last year............. I forgot it!  This game?  Packers go up early!  Seahawks comeback and take the lead, BUT, Packers (and Aaron Rodgers), come back, take the lead & finish!  Thank You Jayrone Elliot!

The Pack pull ahead and BEAT the Seahawks - Packers pass the Finish Test!

Take #3 - Packer Defense Test?  Will the 2015 season produce a REAL defense?
Jimmy Graham, 1 catch for 11 yards.  Marshawn Lynch 15 attempts - 41 yards - 0 TD's!  And,
Seattle scored 17 points!

This defense has a chance to be pretty good!  Packer Defense Test, for this
game PASSING GRADE!

Take #4 - Special Teams Test?
Seattle Average Field Position - 26 yd line - Check
Seattle NO long returns - Check
Packers Field Goals - 4 out of 4, longest 54 yards - Check
Packers Punts - 3 for 46.3 yards - NET 39.0

The Pack did not have any big returns, BUT did not give up any!

Special Teams Test - PASS!

Take #5 Packer Offense - 27 points against the Seahawks defense - PASS!

Great night to be at Lambeau!  Packer Buddies were all smiles!

PackerBuddies Headed to Green Bay For The Opener!

Here we go trip #1!

First Home Game!

Seattle!!!

In the NFL, with only 16 games, every game is important!

Here are playing on my watch list:

Morgan Burnett, is he healthy & what will he do with TE - Jimmy Graham?

Datone Jones, he is back!  Will he help that questionable defensive line? (Hope we don't lose
or he make be smoking dope in some back alley in Green Bay Sunday Night!)

Nate Palmer - inside linebacker!  Any one else goes down, I'm suiting up!

Tyler Montgomery - the RETURN game!

Who Ever - who will be at right tackle on the offensive line?

Eddie Lacy - 100 yards Eddie!!!

That is enough!  Go Packers!

Packers First Home Game - Seattle (Enough Said)

Before we break down the 2015 Seahawks, one last comment of the 2014 Seahawks............

WE HAD THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, the 2015 Seahawks.

First & most important The Seattle Defense.  As of today - No Kam Chancellor.  That  is big, like Morgan Burnett, the defensive leader, but Chancellor is more physical.  Sherman at corner is still a force.  Last year, the Pack would not even throw his way!  Defensive end Michael Bennett must be contained. And linebacker, Bobby Wagner is a force from sideline to sideline!  so, what must the Pack do?

1 - Control the football - Lacy & Starks 0ver 100 yards
2 - NO TURNOVERS
3 - Big games from Richard Rodgers & Davante Adams
4 - Score at least 27 points

Second, the Seahawks Offense.  No weapon, Jimmy Graham at TE!  I hope Morgan Burnett is healthy!  Jam him at the line!  NO FREE RELEASES!  And Matthews in the middle, take away the middle!  Oh yeh, Lynch at running back!  TACKLE HIM!  Danone Jones is back on the line, Peppers at linebacker, and the new indie linebacker - Nate Palmer, time to step up!  And, Russel Wilson, scrambles, beware!  Hold the Seahawks to field goals, and less than 24 points!

And yes, this is time for SPECIAL TEAMS!  It would be nice for 1 special team TD!  Come on rookie Montgomery!  Time to shine!  And the Seahawks return game is dangerous!  TACKLE!

Score - Packers 27 - Seahawks 20!

Back From Hawaiian Vacation - Analyzing Packer Win Over Bears

OK, watching football in Hawaii?  7 AM - a bowl of Cheerioes & The Green Bay Packers!

Feels different!  But, it is still football!

First, my three points before the game?

1 - Defense?  Still a work in progress?  Or, Uh Oh?

If injuries keep happening Uh-Oh!  Barrington finished for the year!  Inside Linebacker is incredibly thin!  We have Clay Matthews, Jake Ryan & Nate Palmer - that's it!!!  Practice Squad - Carl Bradford & James Vaughters!  That's it!  15 more games!  Morgan Burnett missed the game - we need his leadership!  And someone who can tackle!  The D-line held up, but gave up a giant game to Matt Forte! - 24 attempts - 141 yards - 1 TD!  WE MUST GET BETTER!

2 - My question was will James Jones help our young receivers?  Short answer NO!  Jones - 4 receptions - 51 yards - 2 TD's!  Rodgers still TRUSTS him!  This was a BIG pick-up!  Offense looked good, but MUST Stay Good!

3 - Special Teams - Average - Only needed to punt twice - 1 for 1 in Field Goals - Montgomery had a NICE return!  The Special Teams MUST flip field position & scoring would be nice!

I enjoys analyzing the drives of teams!

Packers 9 drives, but only 7 count - 2 were kneel downs to end half & game!
of the 7 drives - 4 TD's - 1 FG.  Two -  3 & out & therefore 2 punts.  31 points is good.

Bears - 8 drives, 5 scores - 2 TD's & 3 FG's - One interception (BIG) one on downs
and one punt.  This is not good, holding for 3 FG's was good!

So, this team is following the past few years - offense solid & defense?

Next, a look at our good friend the Seattle Seahawks!

Game Day #1 - Bears 2015

Here we go! My keys to the game!

1 - Defense!  Will we have one?  Looks like Burnett is out.  Can Hyde and Clinton-Dixx cover the Bears big receivers & come up & make tackles?  Stop the Bears run - Forte?  Will Matthews & Peppers play like all stars? And, d-line, who will emerge?

2 - Offense - Can James Jones make the young receivers better?

3 - Special Teams - Mike McCarthy, will the coach have an impact? And, Montgomery?

Every week in the NFL is difficult!

On A Hawaiian Vacation, But Still Following The Pack!

Here we are in Hawaii! My wife and I are visiting our older son(a Steeler fan) and his family! The two grand daughters are getting spoiled, working on my Packer suntan, golfing(unreal), and using cell phone and iPad to track latest Packer moves!

First, the 53 man roster.  Not many surprises here!  I missed on Thorton, Patriots sighted him. Perillo the tight end, otherwise I was very close!  Kuhn mentors Ripkowski, the young receivers need to grow up fast, and the defense is still the BIG question!

Second, signing James Jones?  I like it!  He comes to us cheap, league minimum for his years.  Always was a good role model.  Knows the offense. And probably the biggest reason, Aaron trusts him!  One thing all the NFL geniuses are not saying is he gives us a red zone presence!  He can score TD's!  Welcome back James Jones! (Oh, and I forgot, he was not a "drama queen" like Greg Jennings when he left the Pack!)

Third, back to the defense!  My two big concerns.  Ted Thompson has missed on some of these early picks - recently Datone Jones & Nick Perry.  This concerns me.  And, the Dom Capers defense? I really question it!  Because of injuries and questionable drafting, I will give him another shot! But, my hour glass is running out!  Time to start looking around the league.

And last, the Chicago Bears!  Every win in the NFL is a big win! We need to stomp the Bears!

Next, a look at the Fox lead Bears!
