Packers End Season With Embarassing Loss to Lions 31-0!

What was that?

I repeat.......WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!

Lions 31 - Packers 0!

So, as a fan, let us say this was your first game!  You even brought your 10 year old son!  You went through the Packer Hall of Fame and told your boy about the great Packer players!  The amazing Packer Games like the Ice Bowl!  Our most famous coach, Vince Lombardi and his quotes like:

"“The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.”

So, excellence today - NOT EVEN CLOSE!

What is we learn today?

This team is finished!  And MANY of these players are gone!

The Packer Management is under fire, beginning with Mark Murphy!

Ted Thompson left this team with the roster a mess.

Mike McCarthy left this team with NO HEART!

The injuries, training regimen, and strength program is a disaster.

GGOD NEWS????

Want some good news, 2018 season, the 100th in Packer History is FINISHED!

A new head coach is coming.

Ted Thompson is gone & Brian Gutekunst has another draft to prove himself!

And, the sun with come up tomorrow!!!   I think.........

Packer vs Lions, Game 16!

As this season ends, number 100 for the Packers, what do we expect?

Last year, the Lions won in Green Bay & at home a sweep!

This year, the Lions won the first game, another win would be two years in a row!

NOT GOOD!

OK! Packers for years have owned the Lions at Lambeau! In 2015, the Lions won in Green Bay for the first time in 24 years!  WOW!

A sweep, two years in a row for the Lions, would be the first time in 35 years!!!!!

So, a Packer win is BIG!  We do not want to give anymore NFC North teams an edge!

So, Packers, JUST WIN BABY!

So, we watch for new names to show up!

DT - Lancaster

WR - Kumerow

TE - Tonyan

CB - Brown

FB - Vitale

Packers Last Game of 2018! Injury Report!

OK!  This is getting crazy!  The injuries of this team make watching Packer Football VERY difficult!

Here it is:

Now, Adams, Alexander, Bakhtiari, Brice, Brown, Bulaga, Cobb, Graham, Matthews, Rodgers, St. Brown, Taylor.  That is 12 starters, remember, we already have 9 starters on the IR, finished for the year!  Now, some of the 12 on today's injured list will play.  But, will the NFL survive a game that is riddled with players that are not dependable.  A game that is played by back-ups?

OK, for this week.

Question #1 - Should Aaron Rodgers play??  The injury list above would suggest NO!  Our back up needs to be seen in action.  What do we have?

Question #2 - Watch closely, who is on this team NEXT year?????  You may want to say a good bye to Cobb, Matthews, Bulaga, Williams, House, and a few coaches, Zook, Philbin, etc.

Question #3 - Watch our kicking game - our veteran Crosby & rookie Scott!!!

Question #4 - I hate to say this - watch the Vikings & Bears game, WE NEED TO DEAL
WITH THSES TEAMS!!!

So, as we end, we also begin!

New Head Coach! New Players! New Offense? New draft picks!  New Free Agents!

Let the NEW PACKERS
begin the NEXT 100 years!!!!

Packers Over Jets, Fun Game, Does It Mean Anything?

We just witnessed the Packers of the past 5-6 years.  A high scoring win, over a bad team, lead by Aaron Rodgers.

This is what got Mike McCarthy fired!

A Packer team, riddled by injury - look at today's starting line-up!

This line up may be different than what you would expected.  But, if you have followed the Packer teams closely the past few years, sadly, it has be typical!  If you want a number, out of the day one starters of 22 players, 10 started the season as starters.  I wonder why Aaron Rodgers is frustrated?

The NFL has an injury problem!  The Packers have an injury problem!  The NFL is IN TROUBLE!

Just a quick discussion for thought as a football fan!  If you are reading this blog, think about these talking points & the future of the NFL!  What is causing the injury epidemic in the NFL?  My view:

1 - Players are getting too BIG! 350 pound linemen, 240 pound running backs, same ligament & tendons in the body & too much muscle mass!

2 - Crazy schedule, Sunday games as usual, Monday night, Thursday Night!  Fly to London!  There is NO WAY the NFL player can recover form a Sunday game and play a Thursday night game!!!  Crazy!

3 - Game day flow of play!  Commercials, Replay of controversial calls, injuries, etc.  Play 2 minutes, look at each other for 5 minutes.  Play 3 minutes, look at each other for 5 minutes.  Play 4 minutes, look at each other for 5 minutes.  Half time.  Change of quarters.  Time outs.  Crazy!

4 - Greed!  Salary of players & Owners income!

5 - Officiating?  What is pass interference?  What is holding?  What is roughing the QB?  What is a defenseless receiver?  The NFL is in trouble!  CRAZY!

6 - And here is a strange one!  On field displays by players!  After ONE big play, they strut around like a "Rooster in a Hen House!"  They allow "STUPID" touchdown celebrations!  I know what I would do to someone strutting around the field like a MACHO MACHO MAN!  This is not part of the game, when you score a TD, act like you have been there before!

OK, enough discussion on THAT!

Back to the Packers game against the Jets!  A win is a win. And, in the NFL that is the bottom line!  What good did we achieve from the win?

1 - Still like the wide receiver, Kumerow!  A crazy story, BUT, I see something in this kid!  Overall, the rookie receivers had an OK season.  Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown, Moore, & Kumerow.  Verdict still out on Geronimo Allison!  And Cobb, he is history!

2 - Defensive line!  WOW!  No Daniels, Clark & Wilkerson!  We are down tp Practice Squad players!!  Still like this Lancaster Kid!!!  And, Lowry has been dependable!

3 - Running game, as the Patriots always prove every year, you just need to use them wisely!  The Packers offense, under Philbin, is running screen passes, draw plays, and other simple old school simple running back patterns!  Need more NEXT year!

4 - Defensive backs!  WOW!  Did you see out starting safeties? Josh Jones & Tramon Williams?  A young hitter, Jones, that is still making mistakes & an old converted cornerback, Williams!  Corners, Brown(who is he!) & Alexander, a rookie that could be the real deal!

5 - Linebackers? Another WOW!  Matthews is still trying, but finished.  Martinez, like I have said, is the only guy that can tackle on the team!  Others, just fill ins!

6 - Offensive Line - Thatk goodness for Bakhtiari & Linsley!  The others, just average!

7 - Tight Ends - need to sign a GOOD free agent or draft!  Graham has proven he has seen better days and Kendrick, another player at the end of a good career!  Lewis, still a no show & Tonyan, a young player that may end up being a good back-up!

So, good win, but not time to buy Super Bowl Tickets for next year!  A few promising keepers for next year, BUT, a total roster makeover coming!

Next week?

Our battle for last place in the NFC North!
The Lions come to Lambeau!

A Look at Our 2018 Defense?

This year, if you did not know, we hired a new D-Coordinator, Mike Pettine.

Stats after 14 games:

15th in yards per game - 349
17th in points per game - 23.6
2nd in penalty yards total - 586
27th in interceptions with - 7 (League Leader 26 by Bears)
18th in forced fumble - 10 (League Leader 19 by Chiefs)
7th in Sacks - 41 (League Leader 47 by Vikings)

Some mixed reviews.  One stat, 7th in sacks just 6 behind the leader, Vikings!  A disappointment, interception, 27th in league!  A good one, penalty yards, 2nd in the league!

Remember, losing starters?

Jake Ryan, inside linebacker in summer camp for the year.
Mike Daniels, defensive tackle, for the year - played 9 games
Kevin King, cornerback, for the year - played 6 games
Muhammed Wilkerson, defensive tackle, for the year - played 3 games
Nick Perry, outside linebacker, played in 8 games

Other starters, Ha Ha Clinton-Dixx traded!

Missing Games?

Jaire Alexander, cornerback, missed 2 games
Kentrell Brice, safety, missed 2 games

And, the players missing 0 GAMES!!!

Dean Lowry, defensive end
Blake Martinez, inside linebackers
Clay Matthews, outside linebackers

Considering all the above, I may be one to give Mike Pettine a second chance!!!  A lot will depend on the new head coach?  Is the new coach from an offensive or defensive background?  In any case, I DO NOT blame Pettine for our ugly season!

What To Watch For In Packers Last Two Games!

First, I need to cry a little!  Have you seen the race for the wildcard???

Look at the teams & records!

Seahawks - 8 wins 6 losses
Vikings - 7 wins 6 losses 1 tie
Eagles - 7 wins 7 losses
Redkins - 7 wins 7 losses
Panthers - 6 wins 7 losses

Wow!  Not a great year for wildcards and of course, WE SHOULD BE THERE!!!

OK, no more crying!

What to watch for? Who will be around 3 years from now?

1 - Young receivers - Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown, Moore, Kumerow?  My guess today!  NONE!

2 - Running back - Aaron Jones injured, Montgomery(WELL YOU KNOW), Williams, Vitale.
Sorry, again NONE.

3 - Tight Ends Graham, Kendrick, Lewis, Tonyan - EASY NONE

This is why we are who we are!!!  Get ready Packer Fans!  Change is in the air!

So, watch the offense this week!  Is there anyone worth building around????

Packer Fans! The Agony is over!!!

The past two seasons have been VERY difficult for Packer Fans!  Makes winning and playoffs special!!  Let's take a look at this season!  First, I will look at our losses & tie game!

Week 2 - Vikings Tie - 29-29
Week 3 - Redkins Loss 31-17
Week 5 - Lions Loss 31-23
Week 8 - Rams Loss - 29-27
Week 9 - Patriots Loss - 31-17
Week 11 - Seahawks Loss - 27-24
Week 12 - Vikings Loss - 24-17
Week 13 - Cards Loss - 20-17
Week 15 - Bears Loss - 24-17

Let us pretend the Rodgers Offense could get ONE more TD & a two point?  We could have maybe
7 more wins???  Our record now is 5 wins - 8 losses 1 tie, COULD BE 12 wins & 2 losses???????

Let say just 4 games????  9 wins & 4 losses???

So, my first theory is we are NOT that far behind!  Next item to look at??

Injuries!!!!

Packer vs Bears 2018 - Game #2

Game #1, a one point win by Packers was DRAM PLUS!  Bears get lead, Rodgers gets hurt, first have a disaster!  Second half, Rodgers come back to win!  Another Rodgers miracle!  And, Packer Buddies Phil & Jim were there!

Fast forward to December 16 - Bears in first, and Packers has SLIM - VERY SLIM chance to make playoffs!!!

Look at the Injury Report for the week:

Packers9 players, Bears 1!

When you look at injured reserve - Packers 13 & Bears 5.

One of my many issues the past few years has been Packer injury issues!  I still think this needs a look!!

Now, the game?

1 - Bears D-line vs Packers banged up O-line! I would run a lot of quick passes.  Try to run the ball!  Run some miss-direction plays!  And, DO NOT turn the ball over - NEED "0" turnovers!

2 - Packer Pass Rush!  NEED to send people!  That means gamble!  That means be creative on blitz's!  If we need to cover man, one on one DO IT!  Move Matthews around!  Send some D-backs!  Heack, send the water boy and ball boy!

3 - Special Teams!  We NEED some special plays & most of all, NO PENALTIES!  If a play has his back to you, DO NOT block him!  DO NOT hold!  And, Crosby, make ALL field goal attempts!

4 - Body Language!  Packers players play HARD!!!

Players to watch:

Packers - Aaron Jones, Aaron Rodgers & Right Tackle Bulaga or Spriggs!  On defense, Matthews, Alexander, & my NEW FAVORITE D-tackle, Lancaster!!!!   And, special teams - Crosby!

The Bears have become one of the top NFL teams! (When did that happen?) Packers win, or just seeing a good game is what Packer Fans need to see!

First Game, Packers 24 & Bears 23.

Second Game..........

Packer Buddies Enjoy Their 20th Year of Travel to Green Bay & Lambeau Field!

Friendship!

Sports!

What happens when friends take a chance & travel to see their team in action????

Terry, Bill, Phil & Jim have experienced 20 years of Packer Football!  And, a Green Bay experience that is more than football!!  How did this migration begin from Pennsylvania & New Jersey?????

First, there were others - Andy, John, Bob, Rich,......  On a chance, the original group decided to visit a special football location - Green Bay & Lambeau Field!  To make a long story short, 20 years ago, after buying tickets on the street, and talking to locals, a connection was made!  Through that connection, many home Packer Games, away games, playoff games were enjoyed!  New connections were made & lost, and over twenty years, the Packer Buddies continued to make their trek to Lambeau!

Out of the group, Terry, Bill, Phil, & Jim continued the tradition!  And, a friendship grew!  What have the "Fantastic Four" experienced?

1 - Of course, great Packer games.  Playoff games!  Favres' last games as a Packer!  Away games, in Kansas City, Miami, Washington, etc!

2 - Great players!  Of course, Favre & Rodgers!  Driver, Matthews, Nelson, Woodson, etc!

3 - Great Moments!  Packer Alumni, Kramer, Starr, Horning, Taylor, etc! Farve's Retirement festivities.

4 - Meeting Green Bay People!  Darlene & Tom, who were at the Ice Bowl!  Charlotte, her father received his season tickets from Lombardi himself!  Henry Jordan's niece.  Bridget, a real estate agent, she sold Brett Hundley's home.  And, the stories continue!  We have met MANY people with connection to Green Bay & it's football history!  That is the beauty of Packer country!

5 - Things to do?  Segway Tours of Green Bay.  Fox River Boat Tours!  A trip to Sturgeon Bay.  Many great local eateries, Prime Quarter, Titletown, etc.  A Railroad Museum.  A tour of the Packer Hall of Fame, a Tour of Lambeau!  Many many things to do & see in the Green Bay area!

Who are these visitors to Green Bay?  All retired educators!  All Packer Fans.  Terry, Bill & Jim retired track & Field coaches!  Phil, grew up in Sturgeon Bay!  Bill & Phil attended high school together!

So, Terry, Bill, & Jim met on the track oval!  Phil, entered the group after attending a high school reunion.  And so, the journey began.  Terry, Bill, & Jim - 20 years ago. Phil about 8 years.

I have tracked my 37 Packer games, here they are:

That is 37 games!  My record, 25 wins & 12 losses.  Away games, 9.  Playoff games, 4.  Favre's last Packer Game!  Many great memories!  And, the people that the Packer Buddies meet have made the trip very special!  And, the Packer Buddies friendship has become stronger every trip!

PackerBuddies Bring Home a Win! First Game After McCarthy Era!

We did it!  We, meaning the Packer Players, Coaches, and of course the Packer Buddies and over 80,000 loyal fans!  The drama is over for now, and three more games to go in 2018!  First, the win!

First, our singer for the National Anthem for got the words!  What a season!

Then, the first Falcon drive ends in a TD after 2 controversial calls!  AND, new head coach Philbin uses up his challenges ALL on the first drive!  Score Falcons 7 Packers 0!

BUT, Packers score the NEXT 34 points and go up 34-7!  Something special just happened!  Packers players & coaching staff put the McCarthy era behind them! And, a new era begins!

What were the differences?

First Packer drive saw some QUICK passes!  An actual SLANT pattern to Cobb!  And Packers tie the score at 7-7!  And, we see a screen pass!  And, we see a draw play!!  And, we see Rodgers scramble for 1st downs!  And, we see the team back up Rodgers after a cheap shot!  And, we see Crosby make field goals!  And, we see a defensive TD!  And, we see a young corner take on one of the top receivers in the league and hold his own!!  And, we see new faces shine - Lancaster at defensive tackle.  3 of 5 offensive line backups, McCray, Spriggs, & Patrick hold there own!  And, we see an old vet, Matthews have a GREAT game!  And, you know 34-20 win!

Now,  the Packer Buddies had a great weekend!  First, after a great flight from Baltimore to Milwaukee, a stop for breakfast at the Hobo Restaurant!  Exit 107, off Interstate 43 north.  awesome comfort food for the start of the weekend!

Next, a quick visit to Lambeau and the Packer Pro Shop!  And, of course, a visit with Vince!

That night, an fantastic Titletown Light Show!!!

And, a game day pic, another Packer Buddy tradition!  Left to right - Terry, Bill, Phil, & Jim!

The Packer Buddies have been making their Pilgrimage to Lambeau for over 20 years!  The next post, I will give a brief history of the Packer Buddies and their love of Green Bay & the Packers!!!

Packer Buddies Are Ready to Travel to Football Nirvana!

Here we go!  The Packer Buddies are making another trip to cheer for their favorite team!  As most Packer fans know, this has been a difficult year!  But, as a true fan, you MUST stay focused & support our Packers through good and bad!

It is frustrating!  Most true fans have seen the issues!  Ted Thompson, just VERY poor talent in his last few drafts!  Mike McCarthy lead us to a Super Bowl, BUT, the quality of play and most of all, the PLAY CALLING on offense has been an BIG issue!  Now, change is here!

Four games, and we get to see what life will be like without McCarthy & Thompson!  And what else do Packer Fans do while in Green Bay!!!!

EAT - great places to eat!  Prime Quarter, Titletown, and many other great restaurants!

SHOP - It is December, end of the year bargains!!  Packer Pro Shop & local stores!

SITE SEE - Packer History, Green Bay History, and of course Fox River & of course the bay - GREEN BAY!!!

And of course, the famous TURTLE, ice cream from Culver's!

What Do We Watch For When Packers Play The Falcons?

Here we go!  And new era begins, kinds of!

What will I be watching for at the game??

1 - Packer Player Body Language

2 - Offensive Play Calling??

3 - Aaron Rodgers play

4 - Any new players that stand out?

5 - Special Teams Play!

6 - Pass Rush???

7 - And, can we win with this team?

Injuries Continue, first who is on the IR and finished for the year????

Geronimo Allison
Ibraheim Campbell
Tra Carson
Mike Daniels
Trevor Davis
Devon House
Kevin King
Kyle Murphy
Nick Perry
Jake Ryan
Muhammed Wilkerson

If you are counting, starters are shaded - Allison, Daniels, King, Perry, Ryan, & Wilkerson.
After two year, CB-King has be injured a lot!!!  Nick Perry, over paid & again, injuries the past few years!  With Daniels getting older & off season pick up Wilkerson near the end of a career, younger D-lineman are needed!  Outside linebacker????  For the last few years we have been struggling here!

This week, the injury list for the Falcon game:
David Bakhtiari
Bryon Bell
Hunter Bradley
Bashaud Breeland
Kentrell Brice
Bryan Bulaga
Tra Carson
Randall Cobb
Jimmy Graham
Raven Greene
Kevin King
Clay Matthews
Aaron Rodgers
Equanimeous St. Brown
Lane Taylor

If you are counting, that is 4 of 5 starting offensive linemen!
Much of the season Randall Cobb!
The position of safety - WOW!  This is a total 2018 failure for the entire year!
First, we let steady player Morgan Burnett go before season begins!  We let Ha Ha Clinton-Dixx go half way through the season.  We try young players Brice & Greene & they are always injured!  We move corners to safety - Tramon Williams! WHAT A MESS!

Our wide receivers have be injured & VERY young - Adams, Cobb, Allison, Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown, & Moore!  That is not a very good receiving core!

Tight Ends - another disaster, Graham, now injured, never got rolling!  Lewis was NEVER used!  Kendricks is used mostly as a Fullback, should have just kept a fullback on the roster!  Again, no real threat from the tight ends all year!!!

Not much to cheer about, but here are players to watch!

Jones at running back.
Kumerow at wide receiver.
Tonyan at tight end.
ANY substitute offensive lineman - maybe Patrick.
Lancaster at defensive tackle.
Fackrell at outside linebacker.
Williams at safety.
Jones at safety.
Jackson at cornerback.

Here we go, I really do NOT see much in this roster for the final 4 games!
The Falcons will be difficult to beat for this Packer team!!

Good Bye Mike McCarthy

Wow!  What a year!  Before we get into Mike McCarthy, let us re-cap the past year!

1 - The 2017 Packers, do not make the playoffs for the first time in 9 seasons & Aaron Rodgers has an injury plagued year!

2 - Ted Thompson, out GM is sent packing!  FINALLY!

3 - Mike McCarthy changes MANY coaching jobs, including offensive & defensive coordinators!

4 - 2018 - Aaron injured again, but manages to play.

5 - Packers lose  BUNCH of close games & finally, after the Packers lose at home to a VERY
poor Cardinal team, Mike McCarthy is fired!

So, first, THANK YOU Mike McCarthy for a Super Bowl and many good years of Packer Football!

So, what does this mean for the Packer Future????  First, do not forget, do NOT have one owner, so, the next shoe to drop may be Murphy, our team president!  And, our stock holders executive committee, THEY also need to shoulder some of the blame!

Of our present roster, WHO do will build around??  These are the players that I think will build on:

QB - Aaron Rodgers - of course, but he has had a bad year!!
WR - Davante Adams, first 1000 yard season
OT - David Bakhtiari - He also has great hair!
C - Corey Linsley - has quietly anchored the O-line!
RB - Aaron Jones - just do get caught smoking week & driving 100 mph!

DT - Kenny Clark
DT - Mike Daniels - but we need to start looking to replace
LB - Blake Martinez - one of the only guys that can tackle!
CB - Jaire Alexander - may be future All-Pro?

K - Mason Crosby - again, may need to soon look to replace

That is 10, all the rest can be replaced!

A few need to stay, because you cannot replace Too many!
DT Dean Lowry
OLB - Kyler Fackrell - WOW, cannot believe it!
S - Kentrell Brice - maybe serviceable?
CB - Kevin King - can he stay healthy?
WR -Marques Valdes-Scantling

OK, Mike McCarthy!  Crosby makes field goal, we still have him!

But, he missed!

Murphy got it right, that was a terrible performance!  We have seen it for 2-3 years.  Rodgers just covered up the majority of the issues.

McCarthy had to go, why?

1 - Offense was NOT creative & it was obvious Rodgers was doing his own thing!
2 - McCarthy continued to give the same old answers!
3 - The "EYE TEST" on the field was a team that was quitting!
4 - The coaching staff was blown up last year, and not pulling together this year!

Every day there seems to be more drama coming out!  Today, another coach goes.  Early in the year,
Montgomery does his own thing, and we lose!  Clinton-Dixx, cut loose, drama all around him!  Injuries still a BIG issue!  So, look at it as a new beginning!

Let see what we look like the last four games!

The Packer Buddies will be there!!!

Packers Game #12 - Cardinals

There is a very slight pulse!  That will continue if the Packers win!

He is MY problem.  As a Packer fan, I always want a Packer win!!!  But, .........

1 - Mike McCarthy - I have tried to believe in McCarthy!  He is a blue collar, nice guy!  My issue, press conferences - STUBBORN!  And, game management?  And, play calling??  I am REALLY tired of Mike McCarthy!  A win, and he may be back - a loss, a he is closer to the front door.

2 - Ted Thompson - the GHOST of Ted still lingers in the Packer locker room, on the field, and on the Packer roster!  Boy, is this roster BAD!

3 - Aaron Rodgers - LOVE Rodgers, but even Rodgers needs a coach!  Right now, the coaching staff in NOT in control!

4 - Here is where I am confused!  Our defensive coordinator is in his first year!  Pettine, I think, with the talent & the injuries has done a HELL of a job!  I think we need to keep him in Green Bay, so, here is my plan - He is my new HEAD coach, 3 years, and he MUST hire a QUALITY offensive coordinator!!!!  I would give him a three year deal and tell Aaron, play ball!!!

OK, back to the Packers - Cardinals - JUST WIN BABY!

One Last Look At Viking Game!

One thing I always analyze is the drives of the Packers.  I will focus only on the second half.  The one thing I have noticed & a few NFL experts are seeing is Aaron Rodgers' technique is BAD!  If anything, he needs a STRONG person to coach him!  As of now, I do not see that person!

Second Half

Drive 1 - Punt - 7 Plays - 28 yards - 2 first downs

Drive 2 - Downs - 4 plays - 9 yards - NO first down AND give the ball to Vikings on GB 44!

Drive 3 - Punt - 3 plays - 12 yards - a penalty - Delay of Game!

Drive 4 - Punt - 5 plays - 12 yards - a Sack on 3rd down!

Pack holds Vikings, but Williams fumble - Vikes recover

Drive 5 - Field Goal - 9 plays - 73 yards -

That is VERY pathetic!  Not a playoff type of team!  Not a QB that looks like he is on a roll!  If anything, the banged up defense played well!  We had a muffed punt & gave them the ball when we failed on 4th down!  And, only gave up 10 points!!!!

This is NOT a playoff team!

OK, let is begin to get ready for the Cardinals!

Packers Buddies Were Predicting This!

For the past 20 years, our local PA/NJ group has been making the journey to Lambeau!  We have seen great games, Favre & Rodgers, special events (Favre Retirement), visited Canton Football Hall of Fame, traveled to different stadiums, and, of course, discussed Packer GOOD & BAD games!

The past 5 years we have noticed several concerns & on this VERY blog, pointed out our feelings!

The last loss to the Vikings, 24-17, AGAIN, hit on the SAME issues!
Here we go again!

1 - Mike McCarthy is stubborn!  Watch his press conferences!  Listen to his answers!  And, most of all, watch the games!!!  Offense has stayed the same - predictable & NOT creative!!!

2 - NO TALENT!  The "EYE BALL" test!  I will not spend time here, but JUST LOOK at the roster VERY carefully!!!

3 - Injuries! The rest of the NFL is also suffering, but we seem to struggle EVER year!  First game, Aaron's Knee!  Big off season pick up, DT-Wilkerson, done for the year!  Starting OLB-Perry, done for the year last game!  Jake Ryan, starting ILB, NEVER made game #1!  Bulaga-OT, barely started the year and has been banged up all season(AND, missed last year!).  CB-King, missed last game & most of the season has been injured!  Cobb, our #2 WR, has struggled all season!  Our BEST D-lineman, Daniels, has missed last couple games!  Our #3-WR, Allison done for the year!  TE-Graham, broken thumb!  And, lot's of other nagging injuries!  All I can say is - AMAZING!

4 - Ted Thompson!  Retired, but his last few seasons as GM has killed us!!!!  What is left of the last five years????

2017 - Kevin King, Josh Jones, Montravious Adams, Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones
2016 - Kenny Clark, Jason Spriggs, Kyler Mackrell, Blake Martinez, Dean Lowry, Trevor Davis
2015 - NONE
2014 - Davante Adams, Corey Linsley,
2013 - David Bakhtiari,

I would say, one player, Bakhtiari is a Pro Bowl type, others a BIG NO!  And, 2015???

As a fan, this is what we have noticed!  Other talking TV heads, like Tony Dungy, on Sunday Night Football agree!!!

More Changes NEEDED!!!

Packers Season is Simple Win the Next Game!

OK folks!  It really is VERY simple now - Packers MUST win their next game!

Let's have a look at the playoffs - looks like the Bears are making believers of all of us!

NFL North Division
Chicago     8-3-0
Minnesota     5-4-1
Green Bay     4-5-1
Detroit     4-7-0

Chicago have 5 games left - Giants, Rams, Packers, 49ers,  & Vikings
Minnesota have 6 games left - Packers, Patriots, Seahawks, Dolphins, Lions, & Bears
Packers have 6 games left - Vikings, Cardinals, Falcons, Bears, Jets, & Lions
Detroit has 5 games left - Rams, Cardinals, Bills, Vikings & Packers

So, Packers win all 6 to go - 10-5-1

Lions - lose to Rams, Vikings & Packers to go - 6-10-0

What The Seattle Game Tells Us About Our Packers

Close But No Cigar!

3 Points in the second half for the Packers!

More injuries, Daniels & Graham fail to finish the game!

Allison is done for the year!

The Rodgers - McCarthy Drama continues!

Bears look for Real!

Vikings coming up!

So, what do we expect when the Packers travel to Viking Territory?

The Packers are fighting for their playoff lives, a loss seal the deal!  And, do the Packers continue to drop to the bottom their section???

Time to take roll:

Starters out for the year:

Geronimo Allison - WR
Jake Ryan - ILB
Muhammad Wilkerson - DL

Injury Concerns next game, all missed last week.

Kentrell Brice - S
Randall Cobb - WR
Kevin King - CB
Nick Perry - OLB

Nagging Injuries:

Aaron Rodgers - QB
David Bakhtiari - OT
Jimmy Graham - TE
Blake Martinez - ILB

If you are counting, that is about half the starting team!  INJURIES KEEP COMING!

The Drama - McCarthy & Rodgers?

We all see it.  Others are talking about it!  And, the product on the field shows it!

Packers Players are NOT keeping up!  Either it is lack of talent, poor coaching, or just team attitude?
The "EYEBALL TEST" show every week!  Dis you see the Chiefs & Rams Monday night!  Wow!  Players & scheme!  It was a great game to watch, not much defense, but a LOT of points!

So, where do we go from here?  Next up Vikings!

If the 2018 Packers Are For Real, They Will Win In Seattle!

It is that time of the year to put up or shut up!  Seven games to go, a road game to start the PUSH!

What does the 2018 Seattle - Green Bay game look like?

1 - BOTH team have changed!
Seattle Defense has lost key players - Sherman, Bennett, etc.
The Packers have lost key players - Jordy, Ha Ha, et.

2 - The Packers are in the usual injury period!
4 starters are out!  3 on defense - Perry, King, & Brice
1 on offense - Cobb

Have you noticed a trend!  Perry, again is injury prone & is making LOTS
and LOTS of money - $10,750,000 (THAT is the Packers 4th highest player!)
Cobb is making - $12,700,000 (THAT is the second highest player on the team!)

DO YOU SEE WHT OUR ROSTER IS AN ISSUE!!!!!

3 - Watch our new young talent!

Alexander, is fighting injuries, but looks like a top notch CB!
Valdes-Scantling has been looking good & gaining Rodger's TRUST!
Jones at running back is showing signs of special talent - WILL it show?
Greene at safety is filling in and could be a sleeper?
Burks at ILB, is beginning to get more playing time, WATCH him!

DO YOU SEE A TREND?

4 - At wide receiver, Adams must play BIG!

5 - And, last, but NOT least - what kind of creativity will McCarthy show on offense?

OK, Packer Fans!  Here we go!  Are we to be considered a playoff team or not?

Seattle - Green Bay

Forgot MY prediction!

Are the 2018 Packers Improving or Not?

We have reached the mid point of the 2018 NFL Season!  32 teams are trying to get to the 53rd Super Bowl.  Some of the teams are out of it, probably this list:

Teams Out of IT! (11 Teams) (NFC Team in Red)

Browns (3-6-1)
Bills (3 - 7)
Jets (3-7)
Jaguars (3-6)
Broncos (3-6)
Lions (3-6)
Buccaneers (3-6)
Giants (2-7)
Cardinals (2-7)
49ers (2-8)
Raiders (1-8)

Teams Probably in IT! (5 Teams) (NFC Team in Red)

Chiefs (9-1)
Rams (9-1)
Saints (8-1)
Patriots (7-3)
Steelers (6-2-1)

Teams Looking Good (5 Teams) (NFC Team in Red)

Chargers (7-2)
Texans (6-3)
Panthers (6-3)
Bears (6-3)
Redskins (6-3)

Teams Hanging on! (11 Teams) (NFC Team in Red)

Vikings (5-3-1)
Bengals (5-4)
Titans (5-4)
Packers (4-4-1)
Dolphins (5-5)
Ravens (4-5)
Colts (4-5)
Cowboys (4-5)
Eagles (4-5)
Falcons (4-5)
Seahawks (4-5)

So, the Packers are HANGING ON!  Bad news, we lost to the Redkins!  Good news, we still play the Falcons, Seahawks, Vikings & Bears!!  So, WE have the fate in OUR hands!  If we do not beat those teams, we DO NOT deserve to be in the playoffs!!!

So, we start by BEATING the Seahawks this Thursday!!!

Now, a look at the team!  And, BOY has this roster changed!

Packers Offense
QB - Rodgers, Kizer, Boyle
Still Rodgers is one of the top 3 in the game, BUT backups are VERY inadequate!  Grade A+

RB - Jones, Williams, Carson
Jones is coming on & looks like a possible weapon.  Williams is adequate, but not much depth & by the way, Packers have followed the NFL trend of NO fullbacks!  Grade B-

TE - Graham, Lewis, Kendicks, & Tonyan
Graham still has not had a BIG game, Lewis in invisible, Kendricks performs a lot of the Fullback jobs, & Tonyan is still a project!  Grade B-

WR - Adams, Cobb, Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown, Moore
Allison id done for the year, BUT Valdes-Scantling looks like a player.  Cobb is always injured(probably his last year!  Look for Davis to come back this week from the IR, and also help in the return game that has been pathetic!  Grade B

OL - Bakhtiari, Taylor, Linsley, Bell, Bulaga, Spriggs, Parick, McCray, Light.
A good, but not great line!  Bulaga is hanging on, Bell is filling in, BUT very little depth!
Grade C+

We can still score points, BUT only because of Aaron Rodgers!  A team without a lot of talent!

Packers Defense
DL - Lowry, Clark, Daniels, Adams, Lancaster
Thought to be a strength, but losing Wilkerson for year hurt!  Average at best - Grade C+

OLB - Matthews, Perry, Gilbert, Mackrell
Matthews a year older, wow, this is a weakness!  Grade C-

ILB - Martinez, Burks, Morris, Toomer, Crawford
Thank goodness for Martinez, the BEST tackler on the team!  BUT, average at best!!  Grade C+

S - Williams, Brice, Jones, Greene, Campbell
Lost our best Clinton-Dixx, but a DRAMA QUEEN!  This group is incredibly poor!  Grade D+

CB - Alexander, King, Williams, Breeland, Jackson,Redmond, Brown
Could be our BEST someday, BUT not yet!  Young and will make mistakes!  Grade C+

Wow!  An incredible lack of talent, how are we even winning or staying close?

So, there you have it, a team without much talent that Aaron Rodgers somehow keeps us in the conversation!  We NEED to build talent!

My Golf Vacation Is Over, Packers Win Over Miami, And What is Next?

I must admit, I have been losing my Packer Focus!  Why? SOS!

The last few years it just seems & feels like a broken record!

1 - Packers are one of the NFL's best!

2 - Injuries!

3 - Rookie mistakes!

4 - Offense rolls, defense gives up yards & points!

5 - Aaron leads miracle comebacks!

6 - Draft choices fail!

7 - If Aaron is not there, Packers are a losing team!

8 - And, a lack of talent on this team!

We are at 4 wins & 4 losses & 1 tie!  We have found ways to win and lose.  With 7 games to go, what are we really?????

Games to go?  Seahawks, Vikings, Cardinals, Falcons, Bears, Jets, Lions!  All this games are possible wins - we could go 11-4-1!  Who are we?  What is possible?

Home we are 4-0-1, away 0-4.  So, we MUST win road games in Seattle, Minnesota, Chicago, & New York!  Will we??

We MUST stay healthy!  So far, we are NOT, will we!

Defense MUST get better!!!  Will we?

This Thursday, Seattle in Seattle - MY PREDICTION, we win in Seattle, we get to playoffs!!!!

By the way, Packer Buddies watched the Packers - Dolphins & brought home a win!
WITH THE WIVES!!!!

Sue & Jim, Paulette & Terry, & Bill & Julie!!!
Go Pack Go!!!!

Packers - Patriots 2018! The Game After The Drama!

If you are a true Packer Fan, the last few years have had a lot of DRAMA!

Missed opportunities, BIG injuries, coaching changes, general manager changes, ...........

Does this look like a team that REALLY knows what it is doing???????

In my eyes, NO!

What is the CONSTANT!  Aaron Rodgers!  As I have constantly blogged - Aaron Rodgers has covered up a LOT of Packer miss-steps!

Bad Draft Picks!

Bad Play Calling!

Poor Defense!

The beauty of the NFL is you really NEVER KNOW!  I choose to take the HIGH ROAD!

1 - We still have Aaron!

2 - Our D-backs are looking better & the DRAMA QUEEN Clinton-Dixx is gone!

3 - Our running game!  Aaron Jones is the MAN!  Finally!  Another DRAMA QUEEN
Ty Montgomery is gone!

4 - Young receivers are beginning to figure out how to make Aaron Rodgers TRUST them!

5 - We have been CLOSE!!!  Vikings tie!  Rams Fumble!  Crosby Misses!

So, let the PUSH begin!!!!

With..............................................

Packers over Patriots!!!!

My Bye Week Is Over, I Am Ready, Are the Packers?

Here we go Packer fans!  Are the 2018 Packer for real?

We will soon find out!

Packers & Rams, what will happen?

Well, here I go:

1 - Aaron Rodger vs Jared Goff

The "old pro" vs the "new kid on the block"?  Rodgers should be more mobile.  Rodgers should be more motivated.  Rodgers should be ready to strut around the barnyard and show he is still the "Head Rooster"! My prediction - a shoot out with Rodgers coming out on top!

2 - Gurley vs Packers Front 7

This will be interesting.  Will the Packers be able to stop one of the best running backs in the league? History says NO!  But, this is NOT a Capers Defense.  I say MAYBE!  A true test of our new defensive coordinator!  I will make a "hopeful" guess - we keep him under 100 yards!

3 - Packers young d-backs vs Rams young QB

Here is what we NEED!  The young D-backs are fairly healthy.  Ha Ha is tied for the league lead in interceptions!  Our other safety Brice, has struggled!  We know our pass rush is NOT very good.  So, we give up a lot of yards, but make a couple BIG plays!  Ram receivers Woods, Cook & Kupp are dangerous!  TD's are Woods-3, Cook-2, & Kupp-5!  THEY are dangerous!  I see issues, we give up yards, but some possible BIG plays by our guys - how about 2 interceptions!

4 - Young coach vs Old Coach!  This scares me the MOST!  Coach McVay is new, hot item in the NFL!  He is an aggressive & creative coach.  Our guy, well you know our guy!  Will McCarthy let it all hang out?  My guess, YES!  PLEASE!!!!  Mike!!!  Attack, create & show this young puppy what the old guy can do!!!

If the Packers are to be one of the top NFL teams, they MUST win this game!  Otherwise, another year of mediocre football and no playoffs!!

HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!!

       Rams 27

A Win, A Bye Week, A Look at Our 2018 Packers

Bye Week is Upon Us!  Another Aaron Rodgers Comeback!  And, who are the 2018 Packers?

First, after 6 games, we start slow - evidence?

Score for first 6 games in the 1st Half - Packer Opponents 100 - Packers 63
Score for first 6 games in the 2nd Half - Packers 85 - Packer Opponents 44

Sloppy play to start games, fumbles, penalties, poor offense & poor defense!

Aaron doing his second half magic!

Injuries & inconsistent play.  Last game, we had two starting receivers out, Cobb & Allison.  At right tackle, Bulaga is suffering from injuries for yet ANOTHER season!  Our young D-backs are banged up and have at times lost receivers & had big penalties.  Our linebackers are up & down.  Refs throwing flags at Clay!  Perry hurt again.  Our big pick up at D-line, Wilkerson, out for the year.  Mason Crosby, our usually dependable kicker, has a terrible game!  At tight end, we refining Jimmy Graham, but, Mercedes Lewis is a NO show.  At running back, McCarthy does not want to make Aaron Jones the man, instead shuffles Montgomery & Williams, along with Jones.

Again, a team, during the season, either gets better, or NOT.  What will we be after the BYE week?

We will find out VERY QUICKLY!!

WEEK 8 - At LA Rams

WEEK 9 - At New England Patriots

Packer - 49ers, Will This Be The Beginning of Something Good?

Ok, Packer fans, it is time to see something good!

An easy home win would be nice!

An offense that looks smooth & dangerous!

A defense that continues to show a NEW life in Lambeau!

No turnovers, few penalties, and NO NEW INJURIES!!

Plus, the Packer BYE week allows old injuries to heal!

Monday Night has always been special!

Here is a list of memorable Monday Night games:

10. September 8, 2008: Packers 24, Vikings 19

9. October 16, 1972: Packers 24, Lions 23

8. September 20, 1982: Packers 27, NY Giants 19

7. October 29, 2007: Packers 19, Broncos 13 (OT)

6. October 1, 1979: Packers 27, Patriots 14

5. September 24, 2001: Packers 37, Redskins 0

4. October 14, 1996: Packers 23, San Francisco 20 (OT)

3. November 6, 2000: Packers 26, Vikings 20 (OT)

2. December 22, 2003: Packers 41, Raiders 7

1. October 17, 1983: Packers 48, Redskins 47

How about another great Packer win!!

Thursday, October 11, 2018

What Do The Packers Need In Week 6 - 49ers!

What must happen in the Packers game #6?

1 - How about making field goals!  Remember, a field goal is a long snapper, a holder, & a kicker!  In the threesome we have 2 rookies!  I will say that again 2 of 3 are ROOKIES!  The kicker technique is a lot like a golf swing!  Any hesitation, any doubt, any mental "brain farts" and the ball will do funny things!  Last game - funny things!  The rest of the year - NO MORE FUNNY THINGS!

2 - Aaron Rodgers - play like the BEST QB in the league!

3 - Penalties - STOP!  Especially, making long yards for our offense!  And, no more Roughing the QB!!!!

4 - How about a little offensive creativity!

5 - NO MORE INJURIES!

6 - Playing a back up QB, the Packer Defense should shine!!!!

7 - The Packers play Monday night, then they have a bye week!  AND, the next game back, the RAMS!!!  One of the BEST teams to start the 2018 season!!!

A GAME WE SHOULD WIN!!!

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

Bottom Line, Packers, "Just Win Baby!"

With a record of 2 Wins - 2 Losses - 1 Tie, the rest of the year ahead, JUST WIN!

This is a strange team, but there are some similarities to past years!

1 - Defense
Injuries & inconsistent play!  First, a lot of youth on the back end.  We have seen some good play, but with any young players, mistakes will be made!  We have already lost 2 starters for the season!  At defensive tackle, Wilkerson, a big pick up in the off season, is out!  Jake Ryan, our young inside linebacker, never even had the chance to start the season!  A new defensive coordinator!  A shut out against the Bills!

Bottom line, we NEED to give the defense a little slack!

2 - Offense
We begin the year with our star QB getting knocked out of the game, coming back & leading the Pack with a miracle finish!!!  A QB, that cannot practice, but can play hurt.  Our best running back on a 2 game suspension.  Wide receivers getting hurt & playing rookies!

Bottom line, inconsistent play!  We need to stay healthy & Aaron must STAY healthy!

3 - Special Teams
Wow!  Last game, Crosby missing 4 field goals, that was weird!  Rookie Punter & Long Snapper!
Not easy!

Hate to say it again, we need to give them time!

4 - A Head Coach fighting for his job!  A personality of a stubborn man!  No question, he knows his football.  No question, he is a winner.  When you watch interviews, he is always uptight!  He tries to crack a joke, but it looks like a "root canal"!

Again, we owe him some time!

5 - New GM!
Brian Gutekunst, his first year!  His first draft!  This one is simple!

Needs time!

So, I know Packer Fans, you DO NOT want to hear this!!

Patience Please!
Team Building in Progress!

Another Difficult Loss for Packers! Lions 31 Packer 23

Wow! I'm VERY sorry if I am sounding like a broken record!

And, Mike McCarthy is again on the hot seat!  Should he be?

Let us take a fair look at his tenure in Green Bay:

2006 - Year 1   - 8 wins - 8 losses - NO Playoffs
2007 - Year 2   - 13 wins - 3 losses - Play offs
2008 - Year 3   - 6 wins - 10 losses - NO Playoffs
2009 - Year 4   - 11 wins - 5 losses - Playoffs
2010 - Year 5   - 10 wins - 6 losses - Playoffs - Super Bowl Winner
2011-  Year 6   - 15 wins - 1 loss - Playoffs
2012 - Year 7   - 11 wins - 5 losses - Playoffs
2013 - Year 8   - 8 wins - 7 losses - 1 tie - Playoffs
2014 - Year 9   - 12 wins - 4 losses - Playoffs
2015 - Year 10 - 10 wins - 6 losses - Playoffs
2016 - Year 11 - 10 wins - 6 losses - Playoffs
2017 - Year 12 -  7 wins - 9 losses - NO Playoffs
2018 - Year 13 -  2 wins - 2 losses- 1 tie - ?????

So, in 12 years, 9 Playoffs, one Super Bowl  Good News
Bad News, 7 years since last Super Bowl!

The biggest concern is, is it Aaron or Mike?  Most people say, without Aaron,
Mike is in trouble.  The eye ball test?  YES!

Watch interviews with Mike McCarthy.  Same "Coach Speak"  Not very inspirational!

This year, the team seems to be uninspired to begin games!

First Half Scores this year?
Game 1 - Bears 17 - Packers 0
Game 2 - Packers 17 - Vikings 7
Game 3 - Redskins 28 - Packers 10
Game 4 - Packers 16 - Bills 0
Game 5 - Lions 24 - Packers 0

The 2 losses & 1 tie, combines to - Opponents 69 - Packers 10!!!!

And penalties?  Of course, we have some controversial ones, but totals?

League Standings - Packers are 4th highest - 43 penalties for 413 yards

Injuries??  The past few years, a LOT!!  Last games against the Lions, of the
53 man roster? - 13 players!!!  YIKES!

If you look at the hot teams, we still have 2 undefeated - Chiefs & Rams

Andy Reid - 19 years, NO Super Bowls - In Playoffs 13 years & in one Super Bowl
Sean McVay - 1 year - No Super Bowls - One playoff

Young & old - Who would the Pack go for, instead of McCarthy?

TIME WILL TELL!!!

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Packers Over Bills, A Defense, A Shutout and of Course, More Drama! Packers Win 22 - 0!!

I really did not see this coming!  Did you?

Now we know the Bills are not great!  They have a rookie QB!  BUT, they blew out the Vikings!  And, ALL the NFL experts agree the Vikings have one of the BEST defenses!!  So, kindly explain to me what this means?

Week 3 - Bills  27 Vikings  6
Week 4 - Packers 22 - Bills 0

What does that mean?  We are probably somewhere in the middle, the Vikings D may not be as good as last year and the Packers D may be improving!  Time will tell!

Another measuring stick will be the Packers at the Lions this week with a veteran quality QB up against the Packers defense!

Also, in the Packer news is the fact that 22 points & over 400 total yards was not good enough for Aaron Rodgers!  In interviews this week, Rodgers was not happy!  Also, is there tension between McCarthy & Rodgers?  Short answer, YES!

Now is tension a good thing?  Short answer, YES!  If handled correctly, any relationship has some tension!  My wife & I, at times we have tension (42 years of marriage!), BUT we are still a team & I LOVE that girl!  At work!  I'm retired(YES!), but there were times in my 35 years of education I did not always agree with my boss!  Some of my bosses wanted to understand our feelings & the door was open, others, we never even saw from week to week!

So, week #5, what will be the storyline?

1 - Packer Defense Continues to Improve with a Big Win in Detroit?

2 - Packer Offense Rolls Over Lions?

Saturday, September 29, 2018

Packer and The Buffalo Bills, What Will Happen?

Starting with game #4 of the NFL season who are the 2018 Green Bay Packers?

Take a look at the scores from 2018:

Green Bay Packers  24  Chicago Bears  23
Green Bay Packers  29  -  Minnesota Vikings  29
Washington Redskins  31  -   Green Bay Packers  17

This point of the season indicates a team on the edge.  Looking for an identity!

If the Packer Team was a stock you were purchasing, would they be a good investment?

Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers when healthy, the Best!  Problem is not healthy!  And, has yet to have one of those BIG games!  TRENDING?  EVEN

Wide Receivers - Adams, Cobb, Allison.  Issue here, Cobb in injured, one of our famous "hamstring" injuries.  Allison has shown signs of becoming a threat.  Adams wants to be a top five receiver, but is he?  TRENDING? DOWN

Running Backs - Williams, Montgomery, Jones.  Jones looks like a difference maker in his first week back after suspension!  William & Montgomery have been average at best.  TRENDING?  UP

Tight Ends - Graham, Lewis, Kendricks.  After last weeks drop by Kendricks & another week with Graham hidden, and he has a injured knee, does not look like a great investment!  TRENDING? DOWN

Offensive Line - Uh Oh!  Right side of the line Bulaga & McCray injured!  The is simple, the unpredictability is scary!  TRENDING? DOWN

Defensive line - Wilkerson, a big signing before the season, probably out for the season.  This is easy, no real pass rush visible!  TRENDING?  DOWN

Linebackers - Wow, another easy one!  Perry, fighting another injury, still looking for a starter to go inside with Martinez!  And, NFL referees are driving Clay Matthews CRAZY!!  TRENDING? DOWN

Defensive Backs?  Another WOW!  Starting corner, King, injured.  Staring safety, Brice, giving up BIG plays! (We miss Morgan Burnett!)  Rookies Alexander & Jackson are playing well for young players, but they are still young!  TRENDING?  DOWN

Alright, if the 2018 Packers were a stock, would YOU buy or sell?  I am trying to be realistic here and if the Packers were a stock, I would give them ONE more week!  BECAUSE, I am a crazy Packer Fan!!!!!!

Packers, What Do We Know After 3 Games?

Let's listen to the players!  First, Aaron!

Click here to listen to Aaron Rodgers Interview!

How about Randall Cobb, Think? Click Here!

Our top receiver Davante Adams, Click Here!

And, new guy on the team, cornerback,  Bashaud Breeland!

And, young running back Aaron Jones!

Check out the Packer Website!  The interviews are a great place to listen to Packer players and
see how they are reacting to this 2018 season.  If you listen closely, you may be able to see who is
ready for next weeks hero!

The Buffalo Bills, coming off a BIG upset of the Vikings will be a challenge!  Remember, that was
on the Vikings home field!  So, the home field advantage for the Packers may be be as important as usual!!!

More on the Bills to come!!!

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Packer Backers Travel to Washington DC, for Packers - Redskins Games!

Remember my keys to the game?

1 - A "Healthy" Aaron Rodgers!

2 - A defense that begins to develop an "attitude"!

3 - A running game!

4 - Weapons on offense!  Jimmy Graham, red zone TD's & 3rd down conversions!  A "three headed monster from our receivers - Adams-Cobb-Allison!  A "three headed " running monster - "Williams-Jones-Montgomery.

5 - Creative play calling - "Come on Mike"

Well, we lost! Why??

Rodgers was healthy enough, BUT a BAD 1st half!!  And, limping by games end!  Defense?  Well, no attitude, just same old Packer D!  There were many bad moments, but one that still drives me crazy?  We have the Redskins pinned back on their 2 yard line!  98 yards away & they drive the entire field for a TD!  OUCH!!!  A running game, we had a sign of one!  Aaron Jones back looked good!  Williams still running hard!  Jones should be the man!  Offensive weapons?  We have some, but inconsistent!  Creative play calling? NOT!

Back to the Packer Buddies?   Driving from Lancaster, PA, we decided to use the Metro, train system, to finish the trip.  It was great!!

Phil & Jim!    The train was filling up with Packer Fans!!!
Train ride was great, it took about one hour from the GreenBelt Station to the Morgan Blvd drop off.  We changed trains one time! Total trip was less than $10 & Parking was free from the GreenBelt parking lot!  Train was safe & clean.

Fed Ex Field, Redskins Home!

The Fed Field Field had great seats!  The field was close to the football field with very little sideline space!  Packer fans seem to take up about 20% of attendance, and there were MANY empty seats!!

Aaron's Protector!  David Bakhtiari!  And, the TEAM!!

Look close, "THE FRANCHISE!"

Pregame was your typical NFL feel.  A member of our military sang the National Anthem and KNOCKED IT out of the park!!!

Packer Buddies - Bill, Terry, Jim, & Phil

A constant light rain throughout the entire game was tolerable.  And the Packer Buddies, after 20 years know how to prepare!!  We have been in heat in Miami!  Indoors in Indianapolis!  And, of course, SNOW and COLD in Green Bay!!!!!

Kickoff!!!

The "Eye Ball" test for the game was NOT good!  The fact that the Packers had 11 Penalty Flags, NOT GOOD!  And, another questionable call on Clay Matthews, NOT GOOD!  A defense that STILL gives up BIG plays, NOT GOOD!  An offense that has absolutely NO creativity, NOT GOOD!  And Coach McCarthy still sounding like a broken record, NOT GOOD!

After game 3, still looks like the same old Packers we have seen the past 5-6 years!  And, as we have seen with Aaron, we are just a BELOW average team!

Final Score - Redskins 31 & Packers 17

Saturday, September 22, 2018

What Packer Fans Need to See For Game #3 - Redskins?

If, the Packers 2018 season is a championship season, what should we see for game three??

1 - A "Healthy" Aaron Rodgers!

2 - A defense that begins to develop an "attitude"!

3 - A running game!

4 - Weapons on offense!  Jimmy Graham, red zone TD's & 3rd down conversions!  A "three headed monster from our receivers - Adams-Cobb-Allison!  A "three headed " running monster - "Williams-Jones-Montgomery.

5 - Creative play calling - "Come on Mike"

The Redskins should be a great road game test.  Not a great team, but it has weapons.  Adrian Peterson, although older, still runs hard.  A veteran QB, still trying to prove himself in Alex Smith.  A very good tight end.  And a defense, that also has players, led by linebacker Ryan Kerrigan.

* - So, a game we should win!  What to look for?

** - Combined rushing numbers - 110 yards & 2 TD's!

*** - Jimmy Graham - 6 receptions, 80 yards & a TD!

**** - No turnovers!

***** - And, a defense that starts to look better!!!

Final Score,

Green Bay 31
     Redskins 13

The Packer Buddies are BACK!!!

Bill, Terry, Jim, & Phil!!!

Packers Game #3 - Washington Redskins

Packers are ready to hit the road.  And, the Packer Buddies will be there!

What do we know about the Redskins?

New QB!  Alex Smith. A very good veteran(14th year).  Good, but never great.  A reasonably good athlete.  Started with 49ers, then some good years with the Chiefs, now in Washington.

Redskins Offense
WR - Josh Doctson, Jamison Crowder, & Paul Richardson

Game 1 Redskins 24 - Cardinals 6
Game 2 - Colts 21 - Redskins 9

Redskins Offense has some weapons.  Reed, at tight end is one of the best.  He needs to be contained!  The receivers half some experience and are steady.  But, no outstanding receivers that usually give the Packers headaches!  Veteran Peterson is still a danger!  He has lost a step, but still very physical!

Redskins Defense has been stingy so far this year. Playing two teams that are not very good, the Defense is ranked 1st giving up 247 yards a game.  Packers offense is ranked 17th with 360 yards a game.  At corner, veteran Josh Norman is a good one & has been through many NFL games!  Outside linebacker, Ryan Kerrigan, is the real deal!

Packers should win this game if they wish to be considered a Super Bowl contender!  This game will tell us a lot about our season!
